As winegrowers, we listen to the specific microclimate, the diverse soil types, and the flora and fauna in our vineyards. We step back and let the terroir take the leading role.
After months of careful vine tending, the harvest becomes a decisive moment for the wine. At ideal ripeness, our grapes are selectively hand-picked with great care. To avoid any loss of quality, we try to bring the grapes quickly into the cellar and, after gentle processing, carefully into the barrels. From that point on, we merely accompany the wine with attentive care. We intervene as little as possible, allowing it to mature and giving it time. Restraint and a conscious “less is more” approach lead to greater quality.
The wine of true value is not the one “technically perfected,” but the authentic and distinctive one. This sometimes requires difficult decisions, risk, and a commitment to individuality. Yet each of our wines rewards us with character and identity that may not conform to the norm but make its terroir intensely perceptible.
The climate of the Weinviertel is shaped by a Pannonian–subcontinental influence: the dry, hot summers and the moderately cold, low-snow winters are ideal for full-bodied white and red wines.
